SofaScore doesn't list Ferguson as a scorer, just a starter and off after 68 mins or so.
Odubeko certainly scored WHs only goal so far. |

Harvey Neville with an assist, played a number of lovely crosses in. Had a fantastic second half.
Charlie McCann with a great pre-assist. Some other very nice runs with the ball too. But also sloppy with the ball and giving away possession in dangerous areas. Plays as a deep midfielder but offers zero protection to the backline. |

Even if Mark doesn't turn out to be good enough to be capped for our senior team it's easy to see why he wouldn't want to have any further involvement with the North.

Well Ferguson has said himself he scored so? š Already playing with their 23s and starting for them. Very positive sign. Heās 16 but just turned 16 since late October. Heās nearly a full year off 17. Looks very promising. Furlong started too. Brighton have a growing Irish contingent Matt Everitt there also.

Ferguson, mipo and furlong... surely we're going to see the irish team vastly improved with all these promising players very soon

Mipo scored as well didnāt realise that. Odubeko hopefully might make his PL debut before the years out.
As far as an improved team the 19,00,01 batch we have lads like Kelleher Travers,Collins, OāShea, McNamara,Knight, Molumby,Smallbone,Connolly,Idah, Obafemi etc and plenty others in L1,L2 and Scotland even that could progress. Talented players some will go backwards of course but a number of them look like they will be top flight footballers. I think the key encouragement is that the crop from the 02,03,04 age groups look just as promising as the 19,00,01 ones. The 21s Kenny took to Toulon that batch arent a flash in the pan. We have a youth system that is producing quality and breeding players again. Bazunu,Parrott the 3 lads mentioned above etc. If the 02,03,04 born crop can produce even 70-80% of the volume of talent of the above then all of a sudden in 4/5 years time you can have conversations of building nice team with 3/4 players playing with top 6/8 English clubs etc. |

Odubeko played and scored for the U23s yesterday.
Doesn't make the bench today for the seniors.

A dampening down of the Odubeko hype might be no harm at all from our point of view to be honest. The best thing he can do for his development whole he's waiting for his chance at West Ham is get himself into our under 21 squad and show what he's capable of there.

The fact he played for the U23s last night might have suggested he wouldn't play today.

Lewis Richards is very much a regular substitute option for Wolves at the 19. Can play CB and left back. Only a matter of time in making his premier league debut.
Surely he should be a good option for our U21s when the games come round.

You would imagine a shoe in for the 21s. Would be no harm for him to go out on loan next year if he canāt be guaranteed minutes for Wolves.

Bit of an exaggeration, no? Anthony Forde, Aaron Doran, Reece Grego-Cox and Michael Harriman went one better and got actual PL game time before settling into being lower-league players - and this is when teams could name less players on the bench. Conor Coventry has made the bench half-a-dozen times for West Ham without laying a glove on the first team; he's made little impression out on loan. I'd wait for him to actually do something at senior level before saying he's a cert to get into a squad where we have plenty of options in his position. Yes close to a cert for the 21s. Where is the exaggeration. McNamara, Leahy, Scales, Lee and Tom OāConnor full back options all too old for the 21s. Richards an obvious option to come up to the 21s now. As for a loan move why not? He may get some minutes between now and the end of the season. Heās 19 now will be 20 in October. Coventry had played about 10 games for Lincoln and was just settling in before corona stopped games in March. To say he didnāt create much of an impression doesnāt tell much of the story. Also had an injury which kept him out this year.

Coventry played for the West Ham first team as a sub in an 8-0 win over Macclesfield in the League Cup a couple of years ago. Remains to be seen if he can make the grade but has a chance. What has happened Reece Grego-Cox, who has played in the Premiership with QPR ? He has a contract with Crawley in League Two until end of next season but does not seem to have featured in their squad for quite some time.
