Is anyone else worried about the lack of talent coming through after the U19s/U21s?

It seems we only select LOI squads for this tournament these days.

I assume there's several players around England that just haven't been picked.

Under 17's look pretty decent as well tbf. How often do we have 3 age groups with good players, pretty rare I'd say so I'd be far from worried
We're decent enough..

I think there is a worrying trend there. The underage sides consisting of players from the relatively new underage national leagues are not performing well. Performances and results were dreadful last year in the Victory shield and are even worse this year. Friendly results for our youth teams at u-17 level and below have generally been poor over the last year. I'll be watching the u-17 team play in Cork in couple of weeks, hopefully they can buck the trend.

Geremi has let Kilbane in here, cross comes out to Holland, 1:1!!

Under-16 squad always most Ireland based anyway except for a few English boys like there was this year. I think we are pretty well stocked from 1999-2002 age groups anyway to build a squad for the next decade to help us forget the last one.

As much as I was a big fan of this at the start, I've seen the evil side to it this week, u13 players being released from league of Ireland clubs has detrimental effect to a child's development and his mental health.

£️ @tommydoylemcfc:

"At the end, Shane Long spoke to me. He said ' Do you have any Irish in you?' because of my last name, Doyle.

To hear that from someone who has been in the game a massive time, and got a load of international caps - it means something to me!"

Glen McAuley released by Pats. Stephen O'Donnell seems to really be wielding the hatchet there, perhaps too liberally...
