But obviously he has been much better for the Under 21s, if you were starting fresh now you probably wouldn't pick him but he should have enough credit in the bank to keep his place.

But if Oko-flex was to get off to a flyer in the Championship he'd have to be selected somewhere, if he doesn't he probably won't be picked.

It will be interesting to see if Wright gets his move in the next few days - he was left out of their very young EFL Cup team last night, having played well in an u21 cup game last week, so it seems likely.

My issue with Crawford is that he played 4-5-1 in the last 2 group games, starting Kerrigan and Wright wide, which is fine, but he didnt seem to have any real width on the bench. The likes of Okoflex and Ebosele (can anyone confirm what happened here?) should surely come into the reckoning for a spot on the bench at least. Ferry seems to have fallen down the pecking order also, but he has just got a loan move to L1 Cheltenham.

As for Armstrong, I think he has featured off the bench in every Championship game for QPR so far this season and has impressed. Surely he could be an option even off the bench if chasing a game - He is very pacey and a different type to Ferguson/Kayode.

Everton Decide Against Loaning Out Oxford United Target (insidefutbol.com)

Interesting article, seems to suggest that young Cannon, who has recently signed a new contract with Everton will be kept at the club and could get game time in the upcoming season.

Nine subs on the bench in the Premier League with five coming on, combined with a tight fixture list because of the winter World Cup, is probably having an impact here. Managers making overly cautious decisions to make sure they don't run out of players in a couple of months time, but in reality it's probably not in the best interests of someone like Cannon who looks ready to go out and play regular first team football.

Joe Hodge, Conor Coventry and Connor Ronan are three others that would be better served going on loan, but could be held back for similar reasons and then not end up playing very much, if at all.

Seems strange but then unlikely Lampard will be there for the long-haul anyway.

Cannon is still very young and qualifies for our next U21 campaign, so not an issue for this season, but for next season it would be ideal if he is playing men's football as he could be one of our main striking options (along with Armstrong and Kenny).

Would be good if he got senior minutes this season before the next campaign. They've brought Maupay in and Calvert-Lewin is due back in the next couple of weeks.

Can't see Coventry going anywhere given West Ham only have about four players for that midfield two in front of the defence. Because of Europe they'll also have plenty of mid week games so will need the extra bodies. The fact he's also played for them so far means he can only play for one more club this season.

Ronan I could see leave because he hasn't featured in any of the senior or U21s squads. Though they've sent Cundle on loan so might be hesitant to let him leave this window. Hodge will likely play U21s and provide cover for the seniors if one of the four senior midfielders is missing.

Agree re Coventry, I think this is a good chance for him to experience PL matchday squads, train fully with the senior team and likely get minutes in Europe. A loan will always be an option in January post World Cup, but meantime he has a chance to impress.

Ronan really needs to find a new permanent home at this stage, 24 now and highly unlikely to break in to the Wolves team. the problem for him is he is likely on a decent enough wage given his age, which may be putting off prospective buyers. I know Goodwin is interested in taking him to Aberdeen, but seems that may have fallen through. Lage has indicated he is available for loan at least.

Hodge - I'd love to see go out on loan, but no mad panic and he's probably grand where he is until January.

Evan Ferguson is on the score sheet in PL2  after 10 minutes and Moran was credited with the assist. Furlong is left back.Flynn starts for Leicester. And both sub keepers are Irish - Doherty and Cahill.

Jack Henry Francis is captaining Arsenal's side in the same comp.

Article is behind a pay wall but Justin Ferizaj turned down a senior call from Albania last month. His father sounds like a level headed guy. Mentions his agent wanted him to move to Italy last summer but he wanted his son to remain with Rovers for the time being.

Good move choosing Rovers over youth football in Italy and it's paying off for him with the first team minutes and European experience. Zefi might have been better off sticking around as well.

Excellent. His father is very clear on Twitter about their allegiances to Ireland and Rovers. Big move by Albania and hefty carrot to dangle. Promising development in the context of Zefi and Vata

It's hard to know with Vata. He has so many options and wasn't born in Ireland.

Zefi is Dublin born, so I think he will be loyal to us. I hope so anyway.

Ferizaj senior has posted most of the article himself here. The part you can't see is where he asserts that he has no intention of seeing Justin play for Albania and they are dead set on Ireland. You can also see this from the father in a response to a tweet under the tweet linked above.

Yeah he's been vocal about it before that Ireland has given them so much that he wants to see the young lad give something back. Has looked impressive when playing for Rovers and not surprised Albania would dangle the carrot of being fast tracked to get him to switch.

It would be surprising (but very welcome) if none of our young talents eligible for Albania (Zefi, Vata, the two Ferizaj's) ended up opting for them. The Ferizaj's looked nailed on at least, and Vata's parents seem very happy for him to be with Ireland as well.
We're decent enough..
