Poor penalty to give away. look shaky at the back. Zefi won't be at u17's long. Serious player we have on our hands.

we are already qualified but does a draw help us to top the group or do we need a win?

we are top so a draw does it I think. A well worked press there. 3 poor goals you have to say.
The cross pitch looks in very poor nick.

A draw does it but it would be very dissapointing if we lost this considering the quality of team the 17s are all collateral form confirms this too. Football not played on paper etc but it is something I think will hopefully develop too our culture I often think no matter what the age group we are better "underdogs" then favourites. We are back in it now so hopefully we can kick on and get that result.

Kevin Zefi has some serious quality will move up shortly.

32 teams will go through to the next round to be held in the Spring.
In the past, 16 teams got through to the finals, so I'm assuming this to be the case this time around too.
13 teams were seeded in this initial round, so fingers crossed we are in a good place to make the finals which take place from May 16th to June 1st next year in Israel.

Next round will be a real challenge with all the poor teams now weeded out.
We topped our group, albeit we did our best to throw that away in the first few minutes today.

Exciting games coming up in the Spring.

Good to see them come back to top the group. In a way Under 17s is my favourite of the underage grades to follow. At under 19s by the time we get to a finals tournament our best players have often been held back by their clubs from playing and at under 21s we lose so many players to the senior team that we never qualify for anything anyway.

At under 17s you have actual hope that if we get a good team together and qualify we can actually keep the team together for the finals tournament.

Pity we couldn't get the win and given us a good chance to remain in Pot A for the elite level round. We're currently fourth in that ranking but Sweden will knock us down to fifth if they beat Latvia in their rearranged game. Germany, England, Italy, Portugal, and France have yet to play their groups.

Ireland u15s lost 2-0 to Poland in Richmond today.

I noticed Irish born Shamrock Rovers u15s player Filip Wasilewski lined out for Poland in the game.

Saw that.

6 Rovers players in Ireland squad and 1 in Polish.

2 for thomas o'connor for Burton tonight, that's 3 in his last 4 I think. Is he still lining out as a left back for them? Pretty impressive if so, still only 22 and doing well in L1, another to keep an eye on.
