On the point of players having to find their way in the lower divisions and slowly building their careers, here is a Q:
How many of our really talked up youngsters ended up justifying the hype? I’m talking about lads who were being touted as stars before they left Ireland.

Robbie Keane
John O’Shea
Was there a lot of noise about Shay Given before he left here?
I remember being asked if I wanted to go to watch Richard Dunnes last game for Home Farm before he head to Everton so there must have been some fuss for him.

Its the ones less talked about more often than not, although maybe it seems more pronounced to us because we'd have fewer coming through each year. I remember Miller and Thornton being touted to join Duff and Keane in giving us a world class midfield one time. It was about the same time Whelan was let go by Man City to Sheffield Wednesday. And we know which of those won a big ol bunch of caps don't we

They have Castagne, Pereira, Fuchs and Thomas who are all capable of playing left back.

Think Fuchs is in the last year or part of his deal at the club but Thomas is more likely at LB than the others going by U23 progression.

He said "may" get game time. He didn't say he "will" get game time.

I don't mean he will start there regularly or anything I just mean he may make a debut soon and he is in squads now so may get a couple of run outs in Europe or something or come off the bench etc. Justin started the season and is essentially their back up to start with.

Anthony Scully scores. Goals in back to back games now.

let's be honest if that was Troy Parrott they would be calls for him to start again Serbia.

He can play right wing aswell. Pretty much our position with the least depth

Brilliant... Hardly surprising given how things have been going for us.
