Said it months ago, this lad will rip up league one when he gets a run. His 2 goals on Saturday where top drawer and was very unlucky not to get a second half hatrick after a good save by the keeper.

North up 1-0, with the last kick (set piece) of the first half.

Here’s a link to tonight’s u-18 schoolboy game Versus NI , currently on now
A couple of very good players for the North who absolutely shone in their 3-0 victory over England: Seanan Devine and Michael Harkin, No.s 7 and 17. Be a shame to let another Conor Bradley slip through! ( I do appreciate there is a bit of a supposed difference in quality in the schoolboy squads) Question: are there two different ROI under 18 squads? Ie a schoolboy one and a ‘normal ‘ FAI one ? Or is the FAI equivalent the under-19s? |

Nathan Fraser gets 45 mins for Wolves against Newcastle today in a 3-0 loss. Didn't stand out too much but didn't do poorly either. Had 1 shot of note.

Gilsenan needed a loan for the second half of this season. He's too good for U21 football. He did well for Blackburn in The League Cup earlier in the season. He turns 21 in May. It might be time to leave for regular senior football next season. Don't get caught up in a never ending loan cycle like Coventry and Kilkenny did. Too many loans and time spent in PL2.

Andy Moran keeps his place in midfield today for Blackburn and Zak Gilsenan makes the bench Quote from the Blackburn website "Zak Gilsenan is rewarded for his excellent form for the Under-21s with a place on the bench"

2 goals in 2 games for Emmanuel Adegboyega (CB) for Walsall, on loan from Norwich. Wouldn't be surprised if he's called up to the next u21 squad

Do we need him to replace Cullen or play next to Cullen. Think whether we play three at the back or go to a back four I'd like to see two midfielders playing in front of the defence.
Oshea Collins Scales Ogbene X Cullen Manning Azaz Szmodics Ferguson For March wouldn't mind seeing an XI like this but don't know who'd I'd partner with Cullen. Another reason why Crawford should look to play Lawal in midfield given the lack of midfield options coming through compared to CBs. |

Cullen seems to have gone off the boil in the last year, but before that was arguably Ireland's most consistent and best performer - agree that is not the highest bar in the world. Hopefully he will come out of this blip soon. Not a world class player, but someone that Kompany clearly rated very highly and I thought played well for us in numerous games.
Have high hopes for Hodge and think the QPR could be a good one for him, but he has spent most of the season injured or on the bench. Pretty similar to Cullen, so can't see on what basis he should come in for him at the minute.

He should be looking to replace Cullen in the team who isn't getting time with Burnley at the moment.
