I've heard that Guinness are discontinuing Hophouse Lager in cans and bottles in the UK from the 31/06/21.

I presume it's the same in Ireland?

It was horrid. They treated to make it out to be a decent lager,  but it tasted like all the other chemical piss and more expensive.

seems like a big seller here in Ireland but I could be wrong.  Probably not crafty enough for that craft beer fans and maybe too crafty for the fans of Bud and Coors Light and Heineken.

BSM are you a fan of Hope House ?

Popular enough on draught here. Not a fan myself, too much of an after taste.

I drink it. I hope it’s only being delisted in the UK, I’d have said it’s a very good seller here

Of course it's all about taste but Hophouse is one of the few lagers I like me not being a lager man usually.

If Bud can survive then any drink should be able to. It's more or less diet coke.

Bit too hoppy for me, similar to a Kolsch in taste with a sour aftertaste. I prefer Pilsner when I can get them, must be German brewed. I hate German on sale and then see they are brewed under licence in the UK. Tescos are a whore for that. But all pale into insignificance against Lord Iveaghs Iveaghs masterpiece.

It was a long time since I'd had it (the Smithwicks that is Big smile ) and have to say I enjoyed it.

It was a gift to be fair.
