An unusual one in Solna. Metal bars in the top like USA 94 but stranger.

I thought they were bland as are most modern EPL stadiums.  Gone are the days of interesting stanchions.  I am thinking of opening up a British Stanchion Museum celebrating the stanchions of the past.  Chelsea is one of my favourite old stanchions as is Arsenals from Highbury.

Nothing exceptional about the Malmo stanchions but the bar at the back of goal makes a fantastic rattle when the ball hits the back of the net

The Swedes really know their business when it comes to
stanchions. Not surprising considering they brought us great brands such as Volvo.

The friends arena in Stockholm has fantastic stanchions.

Malmo's made a serious clatter when the ball hit the net. I prefer the old fashioned whoosh myself you used to get when the ball used to hit the excessive baggy netting you used to have in the 90's. Not this taut netting that they have nowadays.

Around here Philly, they would be called RSJ's (Rolled Steel Joint), basically a steel beam supporting a structure, and not, in any shape or form, stanchions.

Picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.....

Holy sh*t first time seeing this thread and it makes me so happy Big smile

I was obsessed with these as a kid. I loved the ones used in the 94 world cup and Ipswich town had some good ones back then as well. I remember playing subbuteo and going around to all the shops getting the different goals posts. Used to even make them out of lego and stick onion nets on the back. Also loved the ones in fifa94/95. Fantastic memories. Thanks for the thread Thumbs Up

8.06 serious retro stanchionography.  The stanchions are the wrong side of the nets when compared with similar structures of the time i.e. Old Trafford.
