Its a 2 maybe 3 day away trip, pints will be at most €4 in Gib and bags of cans much less. Have to laugh at lads feeling the need to justify to others and it seems to themselves staying in an absolute sh*t hole using a cheaper pint as the mainstay.
Stay where you want, drink where you want and have a great time.

I might take a stroll into La Linea just to see if it's as much of a sh*thole that people say.

Looks a grand spot. Plenty of space in front of it on the marina too

I suppose my tastes might not be considered conventional on here, but it's really soulless down there.

Not really, if I am honest. I was a bit fascinated by the weird feel to the place and the people, it is very unique, but it isn't like Benidorm at all, that's for sure. There are a few little bars where it feels like it has been transported from a Conservative club in Essex, but mostly, regarding nightlife, it is weird and dull. Pubs and bars that don't feel Spanish or English, but not like anything on the Costas either. Just weird. But at least it has a feel. Those places down by the marina are pretty soulless. The 'orange' Irish bar is quite funny. The one and only knitted doll of an Orangeman I have seen, in an 'Irish' bar in Gibraltar. It sums the place up.

Definitely not expensive in Gib. The arena bar which is beside O Reilly's has buy one get one free most standard drinks all day. They have a massive screen outside and you can have a punt in the bar as its connected to the casino. Pints about 3 quid most places and often half price. Anyway you wont spend half what you do at home. La Linea better for food if you want something better than pizza express or wagamamma in Ocean Village.
