As mick cant use him for the first two games id imagine he wont play much if any real part in the campaign. Id say mick will work with that first squad and it might take a lot for him to get into it. Hard to know.

I can name a few that could have played prominently and refuse. Michael Robinson , Mark lawrenson, Tony Galvin and Aldo. Don't know about Andy Townsend but I think so! He could have played for them. Better than those Peter Reid, Hodge, McMahon and Webb was sh*t!!

He had to have, it wouldn't have counted otherwise.

Willem II beat Alkmaar on penalties to get to the Dutch cup Final. Crowley missed a penalty in the shoot out but he was really impressive during the match.

Like Wes, the myth of the luxury player swanning about doesn't apply. A real terrier; hassling, tracking back, pressing fast. So calm in possession, a quick thinker. Which just don't have anybody with his combined attributes. He's definitely going to be a real asset when he comes on board.

Incidentally, footage of Crowley being held aloft at end of match by fans...a tri colour flag in his hands. Clap

They'll face Ajax in the final. Be interesting to see how he plays.

Good news. We still have the mentality over here that uf your not playin in england your a failure. Madness. If you look at a lot of the european teams you see players dotted all over. He will be a good addition to the squad. Im not talking about him specifically just in general.

Is he expected to leave at the end of the year? Agreed he doesn’t need to be in England, but a top erivedese side or the Bundesliga would be good experience

Probably as reflective of Irish emigration patterns to English speaking countries with a similar culture; as it is our familiarity with English football.
Kids want to play in England and their parents are likely to be reluctant for them to go any further afield.

If he was that good he’d be playing for their first team!
