Huge loss.
Who'll play that role now for the three games I wonder?
I figured Troy was to be groomed for that but he's a long way off of it.
Idah to be thrown in I'd say and relied upon heavily.

Massive loss, Kenny will have to prove his ability to adapt now because we don't have anyone else to play a lone striker role.

Bit of a shock that is. Disappointed too, we now need someone to step up big time.

Extremely under used by the previous management team

He played virtually every game for Mick. How exactly was he underused?

Surprised by that alright.
Strange that he didn't do it after the November games and at least finish off the Nations League.

Yep I think the same. Whoever is thrown in there will be under a lot of pressure from the start considering we are struggling so badly for goals, think Idah will probably be first choice now but don't think he is fully ready for it yet. Unless he went with Connolly up top and McClean on the left.

That's a shame, seemed like the only player comfortable on the ball. I can't really blame him though after the shambles we've been the last few years. Playing out friendlies while being injury prone and then a fruitless world cup campaign probably isn't that enticing when you're his age.

Or Connolly central and Robinson left with O'Dowda (a fav of SK it seems ) on the right..

Big loss. The younger lads are going to have to step up to the plate now.

Holy Jesus, we've literally lost our most creative player from the starting 11.

You would wonder how much faith he has in the manager.  Wasn't he taken off before the shoot-out in Slovakia?

I am a Kenny fan but thought that was just stupid as it was sticking out it was going to penalties. Maybe he got the hump?

Not overly surprised as he's not playing for Sheffield Utd much now. Disappointing but he was never going to play in a tournament with ireland.

He would still be the best option available for now but we need to get the younger players experienced as soon as possible.

If I'm being honest Shane Long should do the same too.

You have to admire Shane Long’s commitment, knows he’s not the player he was but is always there when called upon.

Don’t like seeing players retire from International football when they have clearly still so much to give. In my opinion it shows they were never fully committed.

In a nutshell. Failure to qualify essentially made the decision for him. Still think it's odd that he didn't wait until after next round of matches..

So our forward players at present.
Aaron Connolly. Left out of the Brighton squad all together last weekend amid rumours of unrest with a fellow teammate.
Adam Idah. Not in the Norwich City squad due to receiving a red card in a previous game and surving a suspension.
Troy Parrott. Out injured and hasn't featured for Millwall.
Sean Maguire. Sub for Preston North End.
Shane Long. Sub for Southampton may see some game time with the injury to Ings
Micheal Obafemi. Seen no senior  action this season.

In any mans terms this is grim.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.
