That's an unbelievable tweet from SU LOL It's made my day and totally unexpected.

Especially when it's not really in their own club's interest for one of their players to be rushing back from injury to play for his international team.

Fair fooks to them. I'd say McCarthy has a good relationship with Wilder and a lot if the Championship managers so that might have an influence on things.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Added. You can bring 40 lads if you want, but only 23 can be named in the any final match day squad. At 24 one was already due to miss out.

I guess Stevens was no.24 for the first game. Someone would miss the second though (I think UEFA say you have to have 2 keepers on bench)

Why’s was there 2 keepers named as subs and jack Byrne left out?
? Is that the rule 2 keepers on bench ?

Had a decent game. Doesn't really have enough pace to go past Premier League standard defenders, but he finds space and links the play very well. Stevens was very good in the first half and Egan had a solid game too.
We're decent enough..

I only caught the last half hour but the commentators seemed to think he did well. Another good game for Egan by all accounts.

Kudos to my missus who looked away from her phone at the end of the game as the camera panned to McGoldrick walking back out on to the pitch to take some of the plaudits from the crowd and asked "When did the Irish keeper sign for Sheffield Wednesday?"
