Tbf Egan and Mcgoldrick make up a list of about 3/4 players at Sheffield Utd who actually look up to or at least close to Premier League standard this year. Far from the issue. If Mick Mack got Cardiff up by some miracle would he look at the 2 of them? Wouldn’t be shocked if he did.

Forest fans use to call him David McGoaldrought. I thought it was funny myself. That miss was Connollyesque. |

Would feel more confident about Eddie McGoldrick leading the line.

He was a class act today. Is he our best attacker since Robbie Keane? Not even joking.

Go easy. He had a marginally better international career than Eddie McGoldrick

Kevin Doyle, Shane Long, Jon Walters and Daryl Murphy were all better.

Yes. He's just the 67 goals behind him now. Catching up fast. Our best striker since Robbie.

Daryl Murphy better than McGolderick? Murphy may have gotten slightly more goals when they played up front together at Ipswich but McGolderick (was going to say Didsy but that seems to upset some on here for reasons I still don't understand) is the all round better player.

Murphy netted 27 league goals in the 14/15 season. McGoldrick netted 7 during the same season. Murphy also made more of an impact at International level under O'Neill. Benitez wanted to keep Murphy when Newcastle got promoted to the PL and Mick wanted to sign him for Wolves when they were in the PL. I'd say he would've made just as much of an impact at PL level as McGoldrick, not that that would've been too hard, if he got another chance at that level. He was a much better player by the time he had left Celtic than he was when he was being played on the wing at a basket case Sunderland.

I'd still have him back in a heartbeat. Was thinking to myself earlier, if he goes down with the Blades and no one picks him up in the PL, could he be tempted back?

Decent player but deserted us imo. He would still be playing of Mick was still in charge.
