He won't be named even if he is charged. Alleged perpetrators have anonymity until they are convicted. And even then, they aren't named if it could identify the victim.

Like have a look at the legal diary online and the majority of accused people in the Central Criminal Court are not identified, only by (in some cases fictitious) initials. They would mostly be rape or aggravated sexual assault cases. Any where people who have not been convicted are named are likely murder cases.


That's today's list of cases in the Central Criminal Court. The two named in trials continuing are murder trials.

Not the first case in Monaghan of a foreign national getting a laughbale sentence after killing someone. There must be some serious photos of judges doing the rounds.

5 years, that is just sickening. So I get you normally need to have a motive to get done for murder but for a violent unprovoked attack just because it was random and one strike rather than with motive a prolonged attack you get a an easy ride in sentencing?

Even with remorse, being unlikely to reoffend and the mitigating factor that it was not a prolonged attachk and rather random, you should be punished for taking away a man from his family for life and 5 years is pittance. Should be at least double.
