See the poor mana Robbie Keane has retired today.

In all fairness he is the second highest irish international goal scorer

the only thing he ever did for Glasgow Rangers RIP (1872-2012) was violently kick James Forrest and get away with only a booking because it was scotland afterall, the huns loved him for it too

Was ok at Preston, god knows why Blackwell wanted him as a right midfielder at Leeds. Just one of them players that excelled at international football. Many better, technical players from NI have done nothing or very little at international level. A record 13 goals in a qualifying campaign will hopefully stand for a while.

He scored some really important goals for you's in qualifying campaigns, against England and Spain off the top of my head, probably plenty of others, a record like that has to be applauded.

One of the best Irish strikers there's ever been at international level. His record speaks for itself

Not as bad at club level as some seem to be making out on here.  Scored a few in the premier league that I can recall although obviously never reached the heights of his International career.  36 gaols for NI is some record and will be a long time before it is beaten.

He just seemed more suited for International football and looked a class striker for NI.

A grand total of 9 premier league goals LOL
It took City 44 years to win the league and 10 months to lose it
