Well worth a visit Ger if you can get onto Ticketmaster on time, Dec Sinnott on guitar with him is class as well, Christy's a legend of an entertainer.  Tickets on Friday I think it is, 9am.

good shout ger, love the see him myself.
Bought my damien dempsey tickets today for the his gig in november. for those of you that havent listened to the fella, in my opinion, and shared by many many others, the bloke is absolute quality. Last 3 albums have been incredible. Different type of music to christy but still has that irish feel to it....not to mention his strong Donaghmede accent!!

Like 1/2 of his songs but by jazus...did he right his songs when he was 10??? Along with his cringer "goin down to dubelin tawn". I believe he's good live though!! See below for some of his lyrics im on about...very hard to sing along to......some catchy melodies though.

Jarsong
You look around, you say what's up
You see another Irishman taking to the 'sup
You see that's the way, that's the way they came

You look around, you say what's up
You see another Paddy and he taking to the 'sup
You see that's the way, that's the way they came

Celtic Tiger

Greedy, greedy, greedy, greedy, greedy
So greedy, greedy, greedy, greedy, greedy

Now they saw the Celtic Tiger in my home town
Brings jewels and crowns, picks you up off the ground
But the Celtic Tiger does two things
It brings you good luck or it eats you up for its supper
It’s the tale of the two cities on the shamrock shore
Please Sir can I have some more
Cos if you are poor you’ll be eaten for sure
And that’s how I know the poor have more taste than the rich
And that’s how I know the poor have more taste than the rich

Hear the Celtic Tiger roar - I want more
Hear the Celtic Tiger roar - I want more, more, more

Got my tickets for the monday gig as soon as they went on sale!!
I really cant stress how much I admire this fella - in my opinion he's an irish singing legend.
Billybob; he's the best live act i've ever seen - you'll never see a singer put so much effort and passion into their songs. I know ppl that have gone to one of his gigs not knowing any of his songs and left the concert in love with the chap.
Anyone that has never listened to any of his songs, give him a chance.....well worth your while Thumbs%20Up

Might try and go to the Vicar Street gigs in january. Have never seen Christy live but the 2006 DVD at the Point was absolutley brilliant. Never know when he'll quit doing the shows again as well.
