Out it this way At least o'Neill hasn't sign it the way trap did and hung out for the compo.

O'Neill has never been one of those managers either. He's either totally committed or out the door

So where do we stand now?
“He’s either totally committed or out the door”
What is he right now?

I think in fairness to him, there isn't alot of work to be done for Ireland at the moment. So why not go and chat to other clubs. I think he knows well it was a failed campaign, although on paper we punched above above our weight in terms of finishing 2nd in the group and I think he is having doubts about at on, so is chatting elsewhere. If he stays he'll be totally committed, but he is taking this time out to be sure.

And I think the press and the fans are acting like a needy partner demanding to know now what his intentions are. Give him his time out I reckon.

He's turned down a 5 year contract. That's incredible. It seemed like the ultimate win-win situation.Even if he was a 2 month disaster he'd get a massive payoff. Stoke must surely have some nice areas to live in?

Difficult decision. Live in Barcelona or move to Stoke. He isn't motivated by money clearly.

If Ballague is the source, I expect O'Neill to be appointed Stoke manager within the hour.

hes normally spot on. plus hes a die hard espanyol fan so im sure he is in the know.

Bump

In all seriousness. MON now realises that he was 2nd choice and we’re his 2nd choice, awkward

T and Cs of the contract - especially if relegated - may not have been to his liking or perhaps using stoke to get some better assurances at espnayol. We'll never know.

They were just discussing the Stoke job on soccer saturday and how Flores would be getting it when news broke of him turning it down. They all almost fell off their chairs in disbelief. Merse especially thinks he's a lunatic..."but everyone watches this league" LOL

Can't get his head around why someone wouldn't want to live in Stoke.  I suppose when you come from where he comes from Stoke is the equivalent of Beverly Hills

Funnily enough, I had my suspicions Flores wouldn't take the job when I heard there had been no developments yesterday or last night. If he had agreed to move, you would have expected a very speedy announcement.
