A lot of lads on here talk about O Neill being bitter when some of the lads complaining about him seem to be the ones who are actually bitter towards o Neill.
What’s wrong with him saying he is northern Irish? I’m nearly sure his wife came back to Northern Ireland before the end of her pregnancy to ensure they were born in Northern Ireland that tells you all you need to know they feel.

He considered himself Irish until he felt the media gave him a hard time, so now he considers himself northern Irish. He’s seems uncomfortable in his own skin, at 70 years of age you should be comfortable enough not to give a f**k.

I don't understand this point regarding the birthplace of his children. Some could say that he came back to Ireland to have the kids. Your point doesn't provide any evidence as to how they feel or felt or identify or identified.

It was a fantastic result on the night, but let's not kid ourselves: in football terms it was very much a freak result. Against a German side that was in relative decline having already won the world cup. Even with that, 9/10 times Müller would have scored at least 1-2 of those chances, very like the famous 0-0 in Liechtenstein in fact. O'Neill was a lucky general but the 2-1 in Warsaw is probably a fairer reflection of his time in charge. Conservative and very much looking for a lucky break involving Johnny Walters physicality. Kenny for all his faults is playing 21st century ball.

NI is not in Britain or Great Britain. It is in the United Kingdom. |

He is very thin skinned, doesn't take criticism well. Doesn't surprise me to hear he decided to change his nationality based on his treatment by the press. Couldn't believe him saying his daughters thought he was mad going back 'down here' after what 'they did to you'. He was one of the highest paid managers in international football when he was with Ireland.

Aye and there was a reason that Keane was fronting up for him all the time too.

He clearly does not identify as British if he did they would have just stayed in England to give birth it would have been all the same. |

Why would he care what the media thought?
They've always had a partitionist and anti-Northern bias anyway - from the Douglas Gageby / "white n****r controversy" to attacks on John Hume. Ignore the idiots just like the vast majority of people do.

Hear, hear! What a load of self-absorbed sh*te he’s been spouting. He’s like some bitter ex-Love Island contestant who writes a ‘tell all’ piece for the tabloids. When asked about Keane on the LLS, though, he danced around it and gave no insight whatsoever into what he thinks of him.

He may as well be saying he’s from Narnia tbh. Some may say he’s just apolitical but I consider that to be highly unlikely. I wouldn’t be shocked, at this stage, if he feels more British than Irish, but make no mistake that this “Northern Irish” bullsh*t is just a two-fingered salute to everyone in the 26 counties who he has an issue with. So, to recap. O'Neill says he's Irish, not British. He's proud of being small-n northern Irish. He's cranky, has a chip on his shoulder over Ireland job demise and, generally, has a glass jaw when it comes to criticism despite being proficient at dishing it.
More or less the same for our beloved Keano. Irish. Cranky. Loves Cork, not Dublin. Chip over everything. Glass jaw - dishes it but can't take it. There's 80% on here who dish but can't take.

with.
Brick - He's cranky, has a chip on his shoulder over Ireland job demise and, generally, has a glass jaw when it comes to criticism despite being proficient at dishing it. Agree with these two assessments. He makes it all about him.
