It depends on the deal. In some cases a settlement is reached and the person is free to take up another job. They would obviously have to settle for a lot less than their full contract value. In the case of Conte Chelsea are staying paying him week to week. I know in the case of Limerick we ended up taking a 2nd choice as manager because the first choice was still being paid week to week by another club. Agreement couldn't be reached on a settlement for his contract. Everything else was agreed with Limerick. The previous club were happy to release him but not to pay the settlement he wanted. Nobody blinked and Limerick looked elsewhere.

I’d say forest fans would rather they dug up Clough and let him have a go.

I'd say MON might do that and stick him in the dugout and have him and Keane there assistants. Clough will be the one that talks the most sense.

Lets see if any of our out of favour players are tempted by a reunion via loan this month.

Why? Murphy would have picked up the majority of his International caps under MON and suits his long ball tactics down to a tee

The monday night club on 5live last night featured MON getting the forest job. Chris Sutton convinced it's a great appointment and Ian Wright and journalist Rory Smith not so sure, wondering if he's lost his enthusiasm for management. This annoyed Sutton greatly who's convinced his troubles in the latter part of his Ireland reign were due to the fact we have no good players at all.

Looks likely. They're in salary negotiations. He was way overpaid with Ireland though and may look for too much |

True. Keane is very greedy. Turned down the Celtic job a few years ago over bunts.

The ex-Celtic players who played under him all seem to have the same level of delusion in relation to his abilities as a manager at this present time. They all have no problems admitting that he did very little work on the training ground, which is a minimum requirement for any modern day manager.
All happy to jump on the "Ireland don't have the players" bandwagon, yet ignore the lack of time he spends working with his team. I'm happy to accept that this is the poorest pool of players in my lifetime, but the lack of preparation on the training ground gave them little chance of success, which was evident since the Euros. Will be interesting to see if he still has the desire for day-to-day club management. I hope he's bringing in an actual coach rather than relying on Keane.
