Definitely think MON has been very disrespectful this week. To enter into this verbal agreement which is farcical to begin with, was one thing but for him to be now using us as a plan B is very poor form. It is leaving us in limbo. He either wants to be our manager or he doesnt. All this almost waiting for something else to come up but with us to fall back on is getting on my nerves.
Walters coming back from an offside position but Shane Long was definitely onside- Shane Lonnggggggg.... has done it!!!!

I thought that talk had cooled and he was staying.  Terry won't be pleased.  Lawrie Sanchez returns!

It's like bringing a bird out on a date, then when its your round you go to the bar for drinks and meet a better looking girl, try to chat her up for 30 mins then when you get the elbow stroll back to the original bird where she is waiting with the drinks in your hand as if nothing happened.

And once again the FAI come out of a situation looking like the amateurs they are. I'd actually forgotten MON hadn't signed his last contract until after the Serbia away game.

Can't believe that when he signed his last contract hasn't come up over the last week. What happened this week wasn't anything new.

Can't believe anyone would have expected him to tackle the issue tonight either, that was never gonna happen. He has massive confidence in how he handles the media, he doesn't give a fcuk.

Hmmmm, would Stoke not have needed permission from the Fai to approach him? He might not have signed a contract but if he's still taking a wage from the Fai, he's still an employee.

I'd be interested to know if any money based on the new contract has changed hands? I can't imagine he took charge for the Serbia away game without getting paid. Not sure on the legalities of it all, but if he took a payment, then surely he's in breach of contract?

It's been like that since the day Trap was sacked in Vienna. He wanted a club job then, he wants a club job now. Nothing has changed.

Verbal agreements suit everyone while they are honoured. One of the most infamous examples was Schumacher's verbal agreement with Eddie Jordan to race for his team in 1991. After one race, a rival team signed him up on a proper contract. Schumacher went on to win 7 Formula 1 titles, more than anyone in the sport's history. Eddie Jordan is now a tv pundit.

That's the insanity of "verbal contracts". Sign it on paper or prepare for the consequences.

I really do think the verbal contract was the smart thing to do. It tied no party into been bound to eachother in case things changed and it looks like they have changed with results and this farce.

Out it this way At least o'Neill hasn't sign it the way trap did and hung out for the compo.

O'Neill has never been one of those managers either. He's either totally committed or out the door

This the same manager who went for the Leicester job in 2015 and went to an interview at Everton a while back and has whored himself to Stoke this week?  And Sideshow Keane went all out for the Celtic job only he didn't like the pay, only to then take a job with Villa.

Yes, these guys are more committed alright and aren't in it for the money at all.
