Hosts decided this Saturday. Tokyo the favourite, about 5/8, although Istanbul and Madrid are both around 3/1, so it isn't clear yet who is going to win. Any thoughts?
Edit: Istanbul getting it would lead to that "euro 2020 for Europe" proposal, if they don't, it might still go to Turkey, I think. Edited by SuperDave84 - 03 Sep 2013 at 6:29pm |

The Japanese would do a brilliant job with it. Expensive trip if you wanted to go over there though.

Japanese would appear to be the safe pair of hands ahead of the other two given the problems in Brazil regarding the organisation of the WC in 9 months time never mind the Olympics in 2016

Tokyo would be brilliant.
The next thing is which sport bid, will be announced on the 8th by the IOC in Buenos Aires local time about 12.45 pm, so five hours difference to Ireland. I'm for squash, great sport to keep fit, amazing to watch the matches being played in the portable glass courts. Link for the squash bid on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BGox9mV49Y |

Never been to Tokyo or Madrid but can say Istanbul would be a brilliant location for the Olympics. Istanbul is one of the great cities of the world and people should visit the place to see it for themselves. Great food, drink and transport system plus a very beautiful city.
I've read the proposals by each candidate and Istanbul by a mile guarantees the ioc the most return in terms of revenue. Edited by colemanY2K - 04 Sep 2013 at 8:46am |
