Topic: Any Irish team in any Sport Posted: 21 Sep 2007 at 4:33pm |
This is getting very depressing:
Bernard Dunne, gets battered before you can take the first sip of a creamy Guinness
A minute from an away win in Slovakia and the Prague disaster
The rugby is brutal and we need a miracle against Argentina.
So does anyone have an Irish team in any sport that we can cheer on?

how sh*te were the Irish rugy support in paris last night, couldnt hear them at all! The setanta commentator remarked that it was full of the prawn sandwich brigade so maybe that was the story!
As an Ireland football and everton supporter I think I am just a sad git. Why cant I support Brazil, Italy, france and Man U, chelsea etc and get some type of a good feeling once in a while? (PS in ibiza at the moment and its pising rain the last few days, fukin typical!)

was watchin that terrible rugby game on tv3. as the players were comin onto the pitch at the start, the commentator remarked that there had never been so many irish in the stade de france - obviously he doesnt remember the 30000 paddies that took over that stadium a few yrs ago for a "soccer" match....those were the good aul days

That's true Monster, heard that stupid comment meself, he was practically having an orgasm as the teams were walking out. Calm down you tw*t. There is a vast difference between the atmospheres at soccer/egg chasing, soccer streets ahead.

don't know about that Freewheeler, Slovakia and Wales spring to mind in Croker, as does the England and France in the rugby-it's safe to say which sport had the atmosphere on those occassions.

Having experienced both i say, spot on L.Y.A the difference in atmosphere between first two rugby games and soccer in Croker was huge..shocking atmos. for wales, slovaks was a little better...ireland vs France was unreal never heard such noise and England was even better..the egg chasinf fans are very good at home and not so great away..vice versa with soccer fans

Its funny, but i've supported Man united since the fa cup final in '79 (started off supporting a loser) but I have taken to checking up on sunderlands results now as well as united's on a saturday. there is some pride in seeing the irish lads at sunderland doing well, and at least they usually are the ones nabbing a goal in the 90th minute!!!!!
