Unless you have BT already or are a Virgin TV customer you'll have to get a subscription to see the Weds night games in Ireland from this season

FFS. Just read earlier that Eleven Sports has now also acquired Serie A for the next three seasons. They've got the next three seasons of La Liga also. Looks like these will only be available via a streaming service. Load of absolute bollox. That will kill the interest in those leagues in Ireland & UK.

The consumer is getting absolutely screwed here.

Ridiculous amount of these sports channels.  Not saying the 90's was great but if you had sky you had everything.  Now even TV3 Champions League is going to be on a subscription sports channel Virgin Media Sports from now on.

If you wanted to watch all the games you would have to subscribe to:

Sky Sports
BT sports
Virgin Media
Eir Sport
Eleven Sport

and probably more than that.

Its going to kill the game.  Game of the people my arse.

Agree, it's certainly going that way. My main TV football viewing is La Liga & Champions/Europa League. I'd watch "big games" in the EPL and the odd Italian, German or French league game. I was content enough to pay for Sky & BT to watch everything I could want even though 3 years ago Sky alone had everything, I'll probably just cancel the lot now.

No. You can still watch the Sky games afaik
