Are you really The O'Shea or have you just taken over from him?

By all accounts that is what the situation was a year ago or more, that his preference was for Scotland over us. At least from what I remember. Maybe someone who has better info can confirm but his pref is def England anyway. He has played all through the age groups. He will get caps. lad is a serious player. This is all of our own making. Desperate for young lads who have no interest to play for us and working off scraps.

Don't think he is. His dad once mentioned the option of Ireland along with Scotland ..... after the kid had just won something underage with England. His dad may identify as Irish, but so did Rices.

He’s actually a midfielder from everything I’ve seen of him. Probably little chance of this happening but he’d be an excellent addition to Ireland

Kenny is aware of him and Rory has had conversations with him. The ball is in his court. There's nothing much more we can do on our end short of offering a player who's barely played senior football a guaranteed place in the starting lineup - which is impractical in several different ways. Look at where chasing players like Bamford has got us.

Gallagher has been named in the England u21 squad anyway so can put that one to rest. The England u21s also include Hudson-adoi, Mason Greenwood and Eze from crystal Palace. The talent available to them is incredible. |

from what I’ve seen of Gallagher I don’t think he’d make a massive difference anyways. Very ordinary

Allegiances obviously lie with England, strange that you would spend time on an Irish forum. Not suggesting that you're not welcome of course. It's just a bit odd

What is it with English players sounding like a firm of solicitors? First you had Trentham Alexander-Arnold and now I hear of Foden Sancho-James-Bellingham, although I assume they specialise in corporate law?

You obviously haven’t seen much then. He’d instantly be our best midfielder, by far. He tore the Championship up and was consistently the best player on the pitch while at Charlton. People moan about Cullen getting a chance, well Gallagher is levels above him. Nothing ordinary about him at all. He’ll easily become a England senior player and a talent we could only dream of having at the moment.

Ah here. Are you his dad or something? He's a good player. He's lively and decent in tight situations but he could do with getting his head up a bit more and he will not "easily become a England senior player". He might become one but not easily.

None of these lads (Premiership/top of the championship level) are going to play for us while we are a very average international side who are not qualifying for tournaments and have a manager who is a complete unknown to them with no record of managing top level players. If a respected manager like Mick McCarthy couldn't attract these type of players to us then there is less than zero chance Kenny will.

Not even about the manager IMO, they only ever declared in good numbers when there was success there, 88 to late 90s. They now look at it like a lot of work for probably f**k all reward, same as McGoldrick did and walked. Slaven / Houghton were very open about Scotland being their country in those years and many of the English born lads were probably the exact same but couldn't be as open about it. Wales can get them at the moment, because they just played a major finals semi final and have class in a few positions, its no coincidence, same as we experienced in the Charlton years. They want success, they aren't Irish ( most of them anyway, would not identify as Irish at all and never did) You watch if / when we qualify for something they'll be back. Its that simple, sadly.
