Rumours on twitter that his head has been turned by Ireland.

Would be great if he decides to declare for us and I hope the FAI have approached him.

Saw this fella a lot of times for Celtic and he is a seriously promising player. Certainly would be an upgrade technical/quality wise of what we currently have playing in wide attacking positions and at 20 years of age is only going to get better.

What a strange lie.

Has Javier, I mean Gerry, finally sorted his grammar and syntax out??\

In fairness, MICKEY buzzing around in the CRAQUE role behind Cillian SHeRIdan could be the solution for us.

NI gave 1st caps to Ethan Galbraith, Ciaron Brown, and Alfie McAlmont in their friendly against Luxembourg (Brown and McAlmont are English-born). McAlmont seems to be particularly well regarded, perhaps one we've missed out on.
We're decent enough..

All still technically eligible obviously.

No reason for the FAI not to investigate.  NI have ROI U21 cap Callum Morris in their current squad. As their recent attempt to recruit the likes of Jimmy Dunne and Michael O'Connor shows, they've no qualms with going after players who came through our systems.

As regards those three players:

- Galbraith was never likely to be an option for us, as discussed previously above.

- Ciaron Brown presumably may have been open to us, if his first name is any indication of family background.  Remains eligible at U21 level.

- Anyone know what Yorkshire-born McAlmont's link to Ireland is?  He does look promising.  Remains eligible at U19 level. Might be worth Kenny having a look.

Although Shayne Lavery, formerly of Everton, is now no longer eligible, having this minute made his competitive debut for NI.

Shame we didn't make a meaningful effort for him - still only 20 and has potential.

Isn't Lavery catholic ? .....don't know how any catholic could line out for that shower ....belting out GSTQ in almost antagonistic defiant fashion

And I say that as a 'catholic' without an ounce of religious belief in my body, but it's the principle of the thing

Lavery isn't better than what we have. We have more than enough in Obafemi, Parrott, Connolly, Idah in relation to young forwards. Robinson is only 24 too. Not bothered about Lavery.
The only way is up

Lavery might as well take the caps, similar to Niall McGinn I'm sure he'd rather play for us but the north is his only realistic hope of playing internationally so I don't blame him for going for it.

Presumably there's a financial incentive for him to play as well, he won't be getting rich playing for Linfield.

I think we missed a trick with Lavery he looks like he could be a player and Gavin Whyte too another one who could go on to play in the premiership imo.
