Michael has been following Shayne's career very closely since he was v.young.
And he was in the tour party  to Central America last summer, coming on for the last couple of minutes in a 0-0 draw with Panama.
And it's being reported that he has been pulled from the U-21's to join our senior squad for next month's friendly vs Luxembourg (and ECQ vs Germany a few days after?).

Why’s he playing for Linfield at 20 years of age if he’s such an exceptional talent?

Why was Seamus Coleman playing for Sligo at same age.

It was a serious question
What happened him across the water in full time football?

Coleman did it the other way around from him, he started here and then made the move

Don’t understand why Connolly isn’t around the first team

As long as last orders are half 1, that will never be the case unfortunately.

Out of nowhere this one. Maddison is a very good player, but I don’t see it happening

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"

Not a hope, he’s tipped to be named in the England squad this week

Yeah, he’s so hot right now. No way Southgate won’t have him

Less than no chance. If he rebuffed our U-21's when he was a Coventry player, he won't be changing now.
We're decent enough..

He's almost definitely playing us and Southgate to try to get an England call-up. It's a classic tactic, threaten defection to another country and get yourself straight into your national squad and capped.

Especially now that Southgate is in charge over there, I reckon he wakes up in the middle of the night in cold sweats at the thought of losing any half decent young English lad to another nation. He's basically asking to be played with that approach.

In any case, given the hastle with Johannson and Crowley, his eligibility is by no means a certainty.
