Terri nearly rattles more people than TonyJaa.

Why even bite. He'd once argued with himself in the Spurs thread.

It’s an Irish surname for a start. He also played for Celtic at the outset of his career so maybe some links to Ireland

He played for Celtic when he was 7.

I think people just look at a persons name and make an assumption that their Irish.

Like what hope does 'Olamide Oluwatimilehin Babatunde Oluwaka Shodipo' have?

I was wondering the same thing myself. He's been linked to Leeds recently.

Also there's Aidan Fitzpatrick a 17-year-old at Partick, who's rumoured to be the subject of interest from Norwich and Rangers. Could be eligible with a name like that.

Imagine speculating that someone called Eamonn Brophy (who comes from an area that has experienced heavy Irish immigration) might have an Irish connection. Scandalous!
We're decent enough..

220 pages of random baseless speculating and I don't think YBIG has unearthed a single granny ruler recruit for us, out of all those hundreds of vaguely Irish sounding names chucked out there. The only granny rulers have come on board that time like Christie and Robinson meanwhile didn't rate a mention because their names weren't Irish sounding enough. People just need to get another hobby seriously!

Literally dozens of players have been mentioned on here that I was unaware were eligible. If you have no interest in reading the thread, then don't. It's incredibly simple.

Why would I not ,its hysterical.  Also I love being reminded how many of my grown up fellow countrymen haven't evolved beyond the prepubescent school canteen level of national team discussion/gossiping.
None of the names mentioned that haven't already been in the set up or blindingly obviously eligible such as Will Keane (given his brother played for us before he became good) or whose Irish family can be revealed through a quick scan of google are within screaming distance of our actual national squad and the ones that are eligible are outnumbered multiple times by the random Irishy sounding surnames or worse first names such as Kieran or Conor that induce pitiful squawks of 'could he play for us'? The only uncapped professional British footballers not mentioned on here are probably the ones that actually were eligible and eventually made it in to our squad!
Isn't there a point you all just realise that its all entirely futile and just generating false imaginary hopes? And yet the game goes on and on. Thanks for all the daily laughs though.

Actually, there are plenty of examples on this thread of players who are legitimately eligible, but who were not commonly known to be. Callum Robinson was actually highlighted on here months before he declared his eligibility on account of his dads social media account. Weird, I know, but still ...
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"
