Interesting that this blog post mentions Jack Kiersey at Everton and Liam Coyle at Liverpool as eligible. Both considered good prospects.

This might be a bit far fetched but does Patrick Roberts who is currently on loan at Girona from Man City have any Irish connections, given that he withdrew from the England under 20's World Cup which they won last year to prioritise Celtic cup final and hasn't played for any England underage team since, his love for Celtic as apparent during his loan spells there, and the fact that his parents are scousers(possibly Irish grandparents), if this was the case, we should be onto him asap, but I doubt thats the case given we would of known by now. The level he is playing at the minute would almost guarantee a starting position for us.

Related to nothing in particular, but Mark O’Toole - who is chief scout for the FAI - discovered Harry Kane for Tottenham. Probably safe to say he was always aware of the family link and perhaps knew he wanted to play for England

One quote in that also reaffirms why MON will never pick him “You are not allowed an opinion for England. If you do you are seen to have a bad attitude.”

There’s also something about him saying he wants to be the best number ten in the world. That would set alarm bells going in MONs head.

is it paperwork that's stopping him being called up or is there another genuine reason why hes not involved?

Haven’t seen any word that suggests he’s in line. Could be in progress or could not be. In fairness, the attitude thing has followed him around for the last couple of years. By his own admission he sometimes doesn’t know when to keep quiet. Not an O’Neill fan, but nearly every manager has said the same about him
