Why on earth can't the FAI keep a lid on this stuff until it's done? It really is just inviting trouble.

Could have been any number of people who leaked it, why presume the FAI?

It's great news. The FAI were tracking for some time, so it would be huge to get him on board. It would be refreshing to have some talented young players from Bayern (Ryan Johansson) and Inter (Ryan Nolan) in our squads.

You'd imagine that he'll wait a while for an England call up if that move goes through.

Don't worry they could be playing in the English lower leagues in a few years but still good to have players from those clubs on our books even if there miles away from there first team Sweden will come knocking no doubt if this Johansson guy is any good

How does he qualify? The fact he has already played underage for England makes me think that he is going to want to play senior for them too.

He's 5 years older than Rice and has captained England at U-19. He'll probably bide his time. Yet another one that we likely could have recruited when he was a L1/Championship player, too slow off the mark though....

Midfield. Nobodies probably seen him play but he must be somewhat good if Bayren signed him.

Christ - great news if it’s true. Johansson is already in and around the edge of the first team at Bayern, and he’s only 17. Hope he’s not just doing a circuit of the underage set ups. Don’t want another Marcus Mcguane situation

I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995" |

We might need to cap-lock him quickly. Swedish father and born in Luxembourg so can play for all 3. If we wants to jump straight into a first team Lux would take him without a question, if he develops nicely Sweden will come looking

He's already played competitively for Luxembourg at underage level, then switched to Sweden last summer but couldn't get a look in with them at u16s so has now switched to Ireland. My understanding is if he plays with the 19s in October he's tied to Ireland and can't switch anymore and if he couldn't get a game with Sweden over the last 12 months I doubt he'll be in a rush to go back before the next competitive underage games.
