James Maddison celebrating being called up to the England U-21's. Forget about him so.

Doesn't mean he'll go on to get Full caps, he'd still be eligible |

I'd have my doubts he'll win full caps, but as far as I'm aware we've never managed to convince a former England U-21 to declare for us, so I'd say he's pretty much gone. Arguably a case of "too slow off the mark" again...

He seems fairly overjoyed at being called up so I think he's gone. |

Is that Dan Crowley of YBIG fame that is congratulating him?

I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

Good for Maddison. Good player. He’s never been ours, so I can’t begrudge him

Andy Lonergan seems to have established himself as Leeds no.1. Going purely on form I'd say that puts him next in line for the squad if one of Westwood, Randolph, Elliot, or Doyle is injured (as is often the case). That is of course assuming his international clearance/passport was sorted in 2010 when he was looking for a call-up.
Or perhaps not going on that mistake Edited by The O'Shea - 04 Nov 2017 at 5:55pm |

He would be a great addition. Bright, upright midfielder with a habit of scoring screamers. He’s in their U21s right now, but at least the FAI have approached him |

Good to see, puts to bed any claims of "sectarianism" that certain people have put forward with regards to our recruitment policy... Interesting that Will Ferry is still with us too, I thought he had chosen England for some reason.

So in my limited knowledge of eligibility laws, he's only been capped at U16 level by Scotland so if he plays competitively for us at U18 level, we'll be the first country that he's played for as U16 isn't recognised by FIFA.
It's an odd one that he's decided to accept this call up. Won't get an easy ride at Rangers and are we really that more of an attractive option than Scotland? |

Are we really more attractive than Scotland? Eh... on the brink of World Cup qualification, under-21’s top of their group, and both our 17’s and 19’s through to the elite stages of their respective qualifying competitions. I’d say we are quite a bit more attractive. |
