That would be a result. This lad has known for years he is eligible to play for us but has been waiting for something better. I would tell him its too late mate.

If last nights performance is anything to go by, I'd prefer Bam Bam's old man........Barney Rubble. At least Barney would be mobile...

Fairly cynical stuff from Southgate. This is one of the main reasons I'm against our managers coming out and saying "I'm pursuing such and such a player". Firstly it allows the player to leverage the situation without necessarily having to come out into the open and do so (which is obviously preferable for them from an optics point of view); and secondly it encourages the other nation's manager to do something like this. I think we'd be far better served trying to keep these things under wraps until everything is signed off, insofar as possible.

I'm afraid and I was against it... But after Mick...we are gonna need to do the Wales thing and cap players at 20 /21/19/18. At least 3 youngsters per year because the big countries...the money countries I say...are with more resources and the carrots of club'money. England is having players from Jamaica and Trinidad. And so and so it is the end of nationalisms and nobody wants to play for a poor/small team

I don't think so - I think Redmond is there on merit, he has been in great form under the new Southampton boss. He'll never be first choice for England and won't win a bundle of caps but he is definitely deserving of a spot in the squad. Is Jesse Lingard any better than him for example? Who should be ahead of him?

Southgate is a **** for calling up a player to his squad? And we still accuse English fans of being deluded?
