An awkwardness about their play especially when they're playing out from the back, giving the ball away a lot and the old legacy of the ball lumped out of defence when under pressure.

The front three for Apoel also seem to have Zero movement. more than once Jack was in a position to play a incisive pass and the front men seem to just stand there.

Definitely nothing to write home about with Byrne's performance, will be interesting to see how the team progresses few weeks down the road.

Just wondering where do you watch the games in Cyprus .
Hopefully it works out well for Jack . I’ve been to a few Cypriot league games years ago and I enjoyed it

Near impossible to find streams unless you're on betting app, which I'm not. Watched it today through a service called mycujoo. Similar to the watch LOI.

€5 quid a game or more for season ticket. Gave it whirl as Byrne was starting. Will probably give it a few games and check in again (assuming that Byrne's/Apoel's form improves.) Downside is Cypriot commentary but deadly stream otherwise.

Cheers for that Banjaxed. Thanks. I might do that on Jack’s next start.

Not in the squad today for their game. Did he pick up a knock at the weekend or just dropped for a poor performance?
Actually scratch that. It’s a rescheduled game so January signings not allowed to play

Was reading a Man City forum the other day and there were a few comments on Byrne. They were saying it was a real shame about his move to Cyprus and McCarthy being sacked shortly after he arrived, also that he made a few wrong moves in his career namely going to Blackburn
Someone said he probably had a similar level of natural ability to the like or Kalvin Phillips or James Ward Prowse but his career choices just weren’t as good

Interesting to hear that. Byrne was scoring hattricks in the uefa youth league for city and viera loved him. He was very promising in the dutch league but his moves in the championship did work out and either did Kilmarnock.

Phillips and Ward Prowse have a physicality and engine which maybe puts them above Byrne for english clubs.

by career choice or attitude I’d say. f**ked out of Blackburn, f**ked out of Wigan, f**ked out of Kilmarnock.

Yeah, to be an elite athlete you need to live and work like an elite athlete. Maybe this is why Byrne hasnt progressed as expected

well Mac saw enough in him to cap him, and to get a cap from playing domestic you have to be the top player around which he was, comfortably. His socialising choices however left a bad smell and the hint he might be a tad underwhelmed by the Ronaldo level dedication model.

I can't imagine he has a 6 pack under his shirt and really for a full time sports person conditioning has to be a given. He's not fat or anything and no doubt he is more athletic than most of us......but we are not pro footballers!

I remember Danny Murphy after he went from a bit part player to having a great year for Liverpool saying that Houlier got him to lose 2lbs and it transformed him.  Not a huge amount of weight but it shows how small the margins are at elite level.

He will get away with it because of his skill levels at lower levels but really he should have gone to the Championship and challenged himself. He definitely has the football and then he would have had to focus on everything else ......took the soft option (which may not be that soft in the end).
It's not me it's you:-)

Yeah a 6 pack is really not that indicative of the fitness needed for football.

Well documented that Rovers got Byrne into the best nick of his career to date. There isn't an issue there

You probably would. Most people flucuate 2lbs either way a day due to food.

2lbs making a difference seems mad.

I would hope he means 2kg, not 2lbs. Unless Danny Murphy was required to cut weight before each game, 2lbs would make no difference. He'd have lost that by the end of a training session.

Subbed again at halftime. Currently losing 2-1 to the bottom side.

Was a bit harsh his subbing in the first game. Not sure how he performed today. It's early days but.... Jesus... 10-minutes of research into this club says it's a bogey move in anyone's book. Especially for someone like Jack who has a history of trouble with clubs both of his and the clubs doing.

I'd say you would get good odds on these guys having a new manager by the end of the season. Basket case.
