Southampton captain Virgil van Dijk has not been included in their squad for a training camp in France this week. The defender, 26, has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, although the Anfield club said they ended their interest last month. Southampton say they do not want to sell the Netherlands international. |

Feel sorry for Southampton at this stage ....they had the balls to brig this lad south of the border and now he's going on strike so it seems. Someone should go there and kick his hole for him.

Good...He forgoes his 'loyalty' bonus then...As long as he doesn't go to Liverpool I'm happy enough. If noone wants him for our price I'd happily see him stay in the reserves before WC year. From a business point of view that won't happen though

Have to laugh at how some of this nonsense is playing out : Report this afternoon that Southampton have told VVD that he won't be sold to Liverpool. Fairly obviously they are just trying to drum up interest from other clubs to push the price up.
Can't wait for this football to start, the transfer window to close and the nonsense to end (at least for a short while !) |

Imagine the team Southampton would be if they didn't sell all their top players over the last few years.
I'm sure they would have made the champions league in that time. Be interesting to see how much money is made available to the club with this takeover. |

A bit worried to say the least. He was part of the Lander group who didn't pass the test as fit and proper owners to take us over so we'll wait and see
