He was also the first player to score in 4 World Cup finals tournaments (beating Pelé by a few minutes).

The famous photo of him hunched over at Wembley was voted 'photo of the century' by the German sports paper 'Kicker'. It was thought to be after the game, because he looked so downbeat, but it could also have been at half time when the band played. The band apparently came back on at the end before the queen made the cup presentation,

He also played one LOI game for Cork.

With the possibility of Father and son Schmeichel's winning the premier league, I'm wondering how many before have achieved the same feat?

I can think of the obvious one in the EPL era.

Any more?

Didn't know Shaun was adopted. I 'spose that doesn't count then.
Does this mean the Schmeichel's will could be the first?

I can't trace any old Division 1, Father and son, winning combos.

ETA: a tad presumptuous!

Did Schmeichel score for another side besides United in the PL? Only goal I remember him scoring at United was against the mighty Rotor Volgograd!

Robinson is the only other one there I can remember. Where the wind took it on a huge bounce over the opposition keeper was it?
"I called him an embarrassment to FIFA and to himself," .... He said 'No-one speaks to me like that'.... and I said, "well I do' and that was that."

That's the five.

Schmeichel scored for Villa.

Lass: not a criticism, but it's much easier if there's only one question going at a time.
