He's named (like many others) by Mick so that players know he hasn't forgotten about them. You could name 23 and tell them in private, but this is more about a public show of confidence. He won't make final 23 anyway.

but he can't get a game for league 1 coventry... point is he should be forgotten about and start thinking outside the box and pick a midfielder who is actually playing at a decent level or has potential to improve, meyler has neither

Mad to think Reading signed him on a 2 year deal with an option of a third last summer!

Can see him back in the LOI after his contract ends in 2020.

Massive contributions to historic away wins in Vienna and Wales (when captain) also. Had he been played CM home to Denmark, and then kept on at half time, that night could have been very different.
