15-13 Williams now. Some game of snooker so far. Higgns has momentum but still think Williams will see it through.

15-15 all now.

All the momentum is with Higgins now.

One of the best finals in a long time.

Higgins just kept coming back.
So may times Williams would go 50+ up and still lose the frame.

Great story for Williams and he held his nerve.
Clap

In fairness the pressure in those last two frames. Firstly, Higgins coming in to clear from 63 down and then Williams never flinched and came in in the next frame to build up a match winning break. Plenty of other players would have wilted. Some brilliant potting and positional shots.
I could agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.

just caught the last frame, thought William's answers during his interview were funny. Then see this morning a naked press conference and tweeting about pints and kebabs, an unsual way to go about winning, oh and having nearly retired the year before Clap

Ronnie on course to win his 7th UK championship.
He currently shares the record (6) with Steve Davies. He won it 25 years ago as a 17 year old.

The triple crown of Snooker has:

S Hendry - 18
7 world titles (record)
6 Masters
5 UK championships

R Sullivan- 18
5 world titles
7 masters (record)
6 UK championships (shares record)

Steve Davies - 15
6 world titles
3 Masters
6 Uk championships (shares record)

Nobody else has more than 9.
I hope he wins another world title.

He certainly won't if he forms his break-away circuit. I'm sure that's something that's never going to happen, he's just frustrated.Steve Davis didn't come out of this interview well. Not showing as much respect to Ronnie as he should. Davis is obviously always going to be on Hearn's side.

He's right though, the top golfers/tennis players don't have to run round the world chasing ranking points just so they can play in the masters or wimbledon

Hearn, as you would expect from a money grabbing spiv, didn't give his side of it too well either. The apple didn't fall too far either!
Ronnie has a point and nobody else was really going to stand up for the players or, if they did, they would be ignored.
All the Nugget's thoughts come from Barry Hearn, I think if he had an individual thought the fuse box would blow.

Snooker before was a closed shop, same top players hoovering up all the money and titles. Now you have a business where players actually have a chance of making a good living for themselves. Course players like ronnie and higgins and the older stock dont want to travel and play in early rounds but tough. They can skip a tournaments if they want to. Its not ideal but its snooker is in a fairly healthy state right now. Hearn wont give you anything for free. Thats why hes a successfull businessman.

7 UK championships - record

Even at 43 he is still the best around.

Would be good to see him overtake Hendry's world title tally.
If anything, Ronnie has underachieved a little bit with only 5 world titles

Yeah I hope he adds to his tally. He should be more than 1 ahead of Jon Higgins.

I don’t see him over taking Hendrys 7 now but he could match it.

could listen to Ronnie talk all day such a breath of fresh air listening to him compared to other sports people. Always so relaxed and honest in interviews, never afraid to speak his mind.

He's a successful businessman because he is a ****, that's how it works.
It is becoming harder and harder for young players to establish themselves on the tour. I understand that professional sport is a dog eat dog world, but you shouldn't need to be financially secure to start off.
Also, if I decide to buy tickets to a snooker competition I want to see the best players in top form. I don't want to see an exhausted Ronnie,Selby or Trump. That appears to be happening more.
