Martin O'Neill refers to Ken as Young Doherty given that he is still a fresh faced novice at snooker

I love Dennis's commentaries by the way

His voice is made for the Crucible

A worthy successor to Ted Lowe and the criminally underrated Ray Edmonds

Apart from beating Higgins 18-14 for his first title in 2001 and losing to Selby in the 2014 decider Ronnie has always been very comfortable in the final.

I think Wilson was more in awe of him than an actual threat in that final

They're the only two top players he's faced in finals

The rest have been very average - Dott, Carter (2), Hawkins, Wilson, simply not at his level

He never got to play any of Hendry, Williams, Trump, or even the next tier below like Doherty, Ebdon, Robertson, Ding, Murphy or Bingham in a final

Most of them probably wouldn't have capitulated as easily

O'Sullivan v Paul Hunter was the great rivalry that sadly never was, apart from that great Masters final in '04 which Hunter won 10-9

There's something very soothing about his ramblings about the wives and kids. Difficult to pin down why, but it seems very well meaning in a very old-fashioned way. Dated and a touch patriarchal, but with the best possible intentions.

Ronnie did play Hendry in a few World championship semi finals...

Hendry won the first 2 17-13 but Ronnie battered him in the last 2 they played : 17-6 and 17-4

I do worry about his constant oogling of Vicky Selby. He mentions her a disporportionate amount of time when Mark is playingLOL

In February 2021, Jordan Brown won his first ranking title at the Welsh Open, defeating Ronnie O'Sullivan 9–8 in the final. Ranked 81st in the world and a 750–1 outsider going into the tournament, he became the lowest-ranked player to win a ranking event since 1993.

Irish lad from Antrim beat Ronnie at the Welsh Open last week.

He beat Selby in the 1/4 final too.

O'Sullivan very sloppy  today against a poor enough player.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Looks like O'Sullivan is on the way out going into tonight's final session. 10-6 with McGill needing only 3 more frames.

Ronnie's been very poor anyway so far this tournament.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.
