I love fish, would take a good tuna steak over beef steak anyday. Usually have it once a week at least, and usually whenever I go to restaurants.

I was a young kid in the 1980's and it was pretty normal then to not get meat in your dinner on Good Friday. I assume the idea was to show solidarity in sacrifice. The thing is though, that instead I got chips, fried eggs, and beans. There wasn't a whole lot of sacrificing going on there to be fair.

Would have been common not to get meat many days for people not just Friday and not just because of religious reasons.

Would have been common not to get mean many days for people not just Friday and not just because of religious reasons.

Some folk refrain from meat altogether.

You’ll know when you meet them as they will get it into the conversation fairly quickly.
