It could end up like Top Gear, still going but with massively reduced viewers.
It was never as racist as Top Gear.

Had it on when it came on air at 12pm.  Was absolute pig spunk.  The show is finished.

Goals on Sunday gone now too.  Awful decision making.

Has he? He tweeted last night that it was news to him and will be back in a few weeks. Unless circumstances have changed since then?

Sky probably worried it will turn into another Soccer AM and want the viewers for at least another year

There seems to be a real issue with being able to replace these kind of guys.

The classic RTE panel went to sh*t once Bill, John and then Eamo retired. Commentary hasnt been the same either without George and Jim Beglin.

Soccer AM went to sh*t and Soccer Saturday is heading that way.

It'll be the same when Martin Tyler retires from Sky commentary too.

Most TV stations are trying to move away from the "main commentator" for that reason. With RTE it's moving away from Hamilton for every Ireland games, and Canning for every All Ireland. Sky have done it a good bit with their Super Sunday and main games, BBC wouldn't have a "main"commentator these days too. It's too ahrd to replace a Bill

He is getting on a bit and is maybe not as energetic or enthusiastic as he once was but the alternatives aren't much better.

How many of us said the same about George Hamilton or Jimmy Magee towards the end of their careers and now we're stuck with bleedin Darragh Maloney.

RTEs Euro 2020 panels and commentary were painfully poor last year, especially the likes Stephanie Roche and Aine O'Gorman on co comms for 90 minutes.
