Monaghan/ Cavan U13 are playing UCD/Mount Merrion YC at Cootehill Harps AFC.
There is either a deceased or sleeping horse stretched on the grass beside the pitch at Belgium Park.

Hopefully see Monaghan back sooner rather than later.
Crazy to think, if they didnt go to the wall in 2012 Dundalk prob would have finished last and Stephen Kenny and the success since never would have happened

All the best with it Sham.
It was a sad day for football in 2012 and for many infuriating to take considering the shenanigans going on in Poland at the time.

Forming our first Senior Mens team since that devastating day back in June 2012, to compete in the CML. Still a long way off any potential LOI return but small steps and a lot of hard work and you just never know.....
The club has been working tirelessly at underage level in local leagues with standalone teams and at underage LOI level in partnership with local clubs in Monaghan and Cavan. It’s this hard work that nows sees us in a position to form the senior mens team.

There was talk yesterday that in the absence of Monaghan Utd that Sham was going to support either Pats or Bohs.
Tom was offering discounted season tickets and Trapped was offering discounted beers at Bohs.
So yeah I would totally be in favour of Monaghan Utd back in the league.

Qman you are the bigest dickhead here, all ive done is ask questions, how can that be negative? IF the only peoples opinions that are valid are current hardcore LOI supporters the league is doomed because it badly needs new supporters, but you are so far up your own arse that you cant see that. Why the mods allow you come on here and post personal abuse i dont know, but it is your type that drives people away from LOI.

There is not enough people living out in the sticks to support a club.

The costs and spending of the league is unclear does any club know how much is slipping out in expenses. These costs need to be looked at the gravy train hao stop now the clybs are really struggling. 2500 for a surveyor every year but how much of the fines affiliation etc flies out again in expenses. This needs to be looked at urgently.

Monaghan dont deserve a right to be back in the league so soon. They pulled the plug mid-season without trying to make a realistic plan to get them to the end of the season. Galway the year before were hammered up and down the country but to their credit at least they kept their commitment, cut the wages and seen out the season.
Monaghan gave little consideration to other teams in the division by leaving mid-season. For eg. we were supposed to go 4 weeks and pay wages in the mid-season break, so we budgeted for that. They pulled out, so we had no home game and had to go an extra 2 weeks paying wages without gate receipts. No to mention the points deduction in what was a very tight league table at the time.
