2002 - I went to Australia for the year and was in Thailand for the World Cup.

He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

2005 - Just came off the full time FAS Football Course, won a league and national cup with Home Farm, signed for Dublin City, made my senior debut and won promotion (the fact we relegated Shamrock Rovers made it all the sweeter) and then signed on for another 2 years.

Outside of football, I started college and met some brilliant people.

It's a toss up between 2008 and 2012

2008
Although only 17, started going out regularly at home and beyond. Done the Leaving Cert and went straight into college and probably had the best couple of months ever in Letterkenny. Made countless friends that year, great memories.

Celtic won their 3rd League title in a row in dramatic fashion. With 8 games to go, they were 7 points behind Rangers with one game more played. 7 straight victories (including 2 memorable Old Firm games) they went to Dundee, on the final day of the season, ahead on goal difference, where a Vennegoor of Hesselink header sealed the 3 in a Row.

Liverpool were flying in that calendar year also, but it would be 2009 before normal service resumed and they'd f**k it up.

2012
Started the year by making my return to Gaelic Football after 2 and a half years out. Got fit again as a result and had great craic playing with my club. Later that year, fulfilled a personal and family ambition when I joined the local soccer club my uncle founded before his untimely passing a couple of years before I was born.

Great banter was had with my class in our final year of college, only downside was the end of it. Passed my exams and Graduated in October.

Moved back home. No bereavements or severe illness' to worry about which occurred more than once the year before.

Celtic won their first League title in 4 years, Liverpool won their first trophy in 6 years (only high point of Dalglish return)

Went to my first All-Ireland final in September, my 2nd 3 weeks later, great experiences, if not results.

The months leading up to Euro 2012, finding out I was going there, Poland, Poznan, Gdansk, getting hooked on the away scene - Priceless

Is that the season that Rovers were deducted 8 points?

Did you play in many games that season or in the playoff games?

Last year for sure, graduated from college, spent entire weeks on ticket portal just to be able to experience th feeling of gettin ticket to Spain game, the trip to Poland, coming home to see Donegal win another ulster tile and bet the might Kerry in 1/4s and cork in semi final, the whole build up to the all Ireland final and living out a boyhood dream to see Donegal won an all Ireland and witnessing it with my brother made it extra special, the all Ireland celebration that seemed to go on forever

If 2013 bring half as many memorable moments it will be a good year
the closest i will ever come to playing for ireland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0_7w4JyvI4
