Night Boat to Tangier wasn't as good as I hoped PM. It was typically dark but it lacked the humor of some of his other work.

I tried them and they aren't for me. No pleasure to be derived from it at all.

I take them with a pinch of salt however the reviews on Amazon are exceptional.

i read it a few months ago and enjoyed it. Preferred the first part of the book. Some of the stories from Russia are mad. It was an interesting read. Check out some of the youtube videos after you read it.

This lad was in Georgia when we were there in 2017. He was going between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the time, I think. I'm probably going to get the book, anyway.

Just finished both The Miracle of Castel di Sangro and 7 deadly sins by David. Two brilliant books . Main conclusions . Italian football mid 90’s was crazy . Lance Armstrong is a prick

If you enjoyed Castel di Sangro, have a read of A Season with Verona.

World Football Crests by Leonard Jagerskoid Nilsson. It goes through the design, meaning and symbolism of some of the worlds biggest clubs crests. Hardback too with loads of nice pics.

The sort of book you pick up and read a few pages. One of the crests with a great story is Boca Juniors from Argentina. There was another team from the region with very similar colours so they played a match and the losers had to change their colours. Boca lost and they decided to adopt the colours of the next boat to sail into the port. The next boat was from Sweden and thats why, nearly 120 years later, their crest and kit are blue and yellow.

The remains of James Joyce and his wife Nora, to be returned to Ireland in time for the centenary of Ulysses publication ?

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/oct/15/bid-to-repatriate-james-joyce-remains-ulysses-centenary

Dubliners is a great read.

Couldn't understand what the hell was going on in Finnegan's Wake though.
