Hope Everton have a good run in the Europa with McCarthy getting plenty of game time.

An awful shame Coleman will miss their group campaign assuming they qualify for it.

Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

£45 million is definitely excessive, but they're right to go for Sigurdsson,

He has 26 goals over the last 3 seasons - Only beaten by Dele Alli
25 assists - Only beaten by Fabregas, De Bruyne, Ozil and Eriksen
And involved in but not directly assisted in 53 goals - only beaten by Eriksen.

There is value for the money there if he can replicate the next 3 seasons as he did the previous 3

That being said £105 million for Pickford, Michael Keane and Sigurdsson is crazy money, all signings who need to hit the ground running straight away otherwise Everton are going to look a bit stupid.

Thats a lot of money and I can't see them finishing higher than 7th which may not be enough to get into Europe.

if it were anyone other than spurs that were interested in barkley, they'd have already sold him for 50m and got Sigurdsson in. you can see levy holding out to the very end to get as low a price as possible.

I'm not convinced that's how they look at it.

£105 spent but £72 received from Lukaku which essentially means they only spent f**k all on those 3 signings.

Spot on, Bhob.

Tbh, transfer fees have been "unrealistic" probably since the first £1m player (if not before).

So forget the amount, and see what those players can do for their new club.

In this case, Everton are just on the fringes of the Top Six, so that they need Top Six Players if they are ever going to climb up there and stay there.

And imo, Siggurdsson is clearly of that quality.

Which leaves the only other question, can they afford it? Well apart from the Lukaku and Barkley money, they've also recently attracted a hugely wealthy new investor (Morshavi).

Moreover, he's not some Indian chicken farmer who knows nothing about football. On the contrary, he was involved with Arsenal, arguably the most prudently-run club in the EPL.

On top of which Kenright is still in a leading position at the club, and nothing in his record suggests that he's going to take reckless chances with the chequebook.

Finally, Koeman is no mug, and with his CV hardly short of offers, either. So why would he leave a well-run club like Southampton, if he too didn't believe that Everton offer sound prospects?

Weak argument - used by liverpool fans when the spent 35M on Carroll by saying they received 50M from Torres.

Everton have spent £105M on 3 players - thats a fact. They could have applied those funds in various ways but they choose those 3 players. You would wants to see a return on that investment.

Selling Lukaku for 72m is also a fact.

At the end of the window Everton would have strengthen their squad without having paid out a lot of money.

Good signing I think. He is 28 next month so still a good 4/5 years in him.
Obviously would be seen as a crazy sum a few years ago but in today's world that's what you have to pay.

Everton have signed some excellent players, they also have a lot of good young players and Koeman is happy to give them a go like they do at Southampton.

Rooney could be a great buy or just a good striker. He completly stagnated at Man United, the change could be all he needed.

It's a mad fee alright but he is capable of getting about 10 goals a season, fantastic dead ball accuracy.

Agree 100% with Bob in regards to Rooney he looked like he was jsut going through the gears at Man U the last few years, From his first appearance so far he does look to have a bit of bite back in him.

Some serious competition for midfield berths. Hopefully doesn't impact on Tom Davies who looks a smashing prospect.
