But Messi is a man of the people. A humble guy that is just like any other. The socialists choice. Surely he would not screw the little people of Spain Shocked

I doubt Messi fills out his own tax returns. If this is true I would be looking at his accountant.

Pretty sure no matter what you earn you would notice an extra 4 million in your bank account
It took City 44 years to win the league and 10 months to lose it

As good as he is, he has cheated before, and so he will never be the best player ever.

What a stupid post. Maradona was one of the greatest of them all, yet...

I find it hard to understand why anyone can hate Messi, other than Barca haters like Phillyk (who would likely adore him if he switched to Real!)
His talents and club records are indisputeable and yet his career is only half way through.
However, he needs to do it on the world stage if he's ever to be remembered in the same pantheon as the likes of Pele, Cruyff and Maradona.

Nope S/U. I already stated on another thread(think it was the hated players thread) that I rate both Xavi and Iniesta very very highly, Fabregas always thought decent so I can"adore" barca players and I dont deny Messi's talent just would rather his dark side is more talked about in the media. If Messi moved to Real or another club I like I would still have the same opinion of him, until the media and fans who stick their head in the sand to his antics wake up and admit he isnt this angelic great role model the better.

For all of his 1 moment of madness v Argentina, Beckham was a true role model throughout the best years of his career as he never spat at the opposition that I recall, he didnt stick the boot into the opposition in a clear attempt to inflict injury(until he went to usa) as the previous video's I posted show Messi at. Dont recall Becks ever throwing the head into people yet apologetic fans on here think it is acceptable for Messi to do this and still retain his angelic role model status Confused

If Neymar does in fact go to Barca(still doubt it Tribal LOL) I will applaud him there as he is the future of football imo ClapCool

Phillyk, your basis for saying Messi isn't the greatest player in the world at the moment is that the media don't pick up on any of his negative traits!! So, if the media did start focusing on Messi in a more negative way, would you then give in to the fact that he is the best forward in the world at the moment?

Your argument is nonsensical and hilarious to be honest. The fact that you are even mentioning Neymar in the same boat as Ronaldo and Messi says it all about your opinions in fairness.

Tbh phillyk, I think if Messi signed for Real Madrid tomorrow, your new avatar would be of your good self licking the balls off him Wink

Spot on. Neymar!! Give me a f*cking break.LOL

BBC say that if convicted could get up to 6 years in the slammer.

I'll bet my right testicle this won't happen. He and Barcelona have so much ammo (Dr Fuentas case Wink) that the Spanish/Catalan authorities will back off.
