They have the worst home defensive record in the four English divisions.
John Terry doing a grand job as defence coach!

Brentford managers only seem to do well at Brentford...once they leave for better things it doesn't pan out too well

Of course it's very true that Brentford offers a very good environment for its managers to thrive, but if you think about it, it's unlikely that a club would be so good at building a good structure (Board, Directors of Football, senior management, recruitment etc), without also consistently* identifying good Head Coaches. Rosler/Wigan, Warburton/Forest and Smith/Villa all went to "bigger" clubs, which should have offered greater potential for an ambitious young manager. But if they didn't/don't do as well as at Brentford, that says much more about their new clubs, including their "sack the manager" culture, than it does about them (imo). * - The one obvious failed appointment was Marinus Dijkhuizen, and even then the club immediately cut its losses after just nine games, when it became clear they'd erred: Brentford co-director of football Rasmus Ankersen later revealed that the club "made a mistake" in hiring Dijkhuizen and that the decision to part company "was based on three months of training and there were some fundamental processes, in terms of getting a full football operation to work to its maximum, that weren't at the level we wanted them to be" |

Billy Sharp has signed a contract extension with Sheffield U which will keep him at the club until he is 36.

Is he not now the record holder for goals scored in the Championship, think he surpassed Ross McCormack's tally a week or two ago ?

I’m not a fan of retrospective deductions. I only agree with them in the event that fixtures aren’t fulfilled or players are not supposed to be there. I think what plays out on the field should be left as is, and deduct the points prospectively.

They cheated! The only problem I have is the consistency, there are have been plenty at similar over the past few years and have got away with it. Leicester shouldn't have been allowed go up, but at least they made the most of it.Bournemouth shouldn't have gone up. QPR were at it as well. Also, this isn't just about punishing clubs for their cheating, it is about ensuring the longer-term security and sustainability of these clubs, as well as those that suffered as a result. Football is more and a more a game that is won in the boardrooms and not on the pitch, this is a huge step towards changing that. |

I saw recently that the Championship have the 3rd highest annual attendance in Europe, after The Premiership and Bundesliga.
How high would you rate it among leagues in Europe.
Is it in the top 10, I would say it's by far the best 2nd tier league. |

7 points clear with 6 games left Norwich are probably home and hosed. What a league , I wouldn't even rule WBA out of second place , but I think leads will have enough to get top 2
