I wouldn't write him off so soon. Remember he's 27 i.e. just coming up to his peak years. And if you look at his record, it suggests he is a player who, for whatever reason, is finally fulfilling his early potential.

For example, he has now scored 80 goals in 144 league games for Fulham. And if people point to last season when he only scored 3 times in 27 PL games, not only was that in a truly terrible, defensive team, doomed from the start, but it was also under a manager, Parker, who didn't get on with Mitrovic.

More pertinently, in his previous season in the PL, 2018/19, he scored 11 goals in 37 games - very respectable for a 23 y.o. in a side which went on to get relegated anyhow.

Most illustrative of all is his international record of 44 goals in 71 caps for a middling Serbian side. By any standards that's very impressive, and thern you see that 33 of those goals have come in his last 38 caps.

You might be right, but if Fulham can be even half-competitive for a bit (unlike their last entirely hopeless campaign), I think Mitrovic could still score a decent haul, even as they went straight back down again.

Remember, Teemu Pukki has this season scored 10 in 31 PL games for an abysmal Norwich team and imo Mitro's a better player* than him

* - Pukki "only" scored 26 in 41 Championship games last season, for a similarly dominant Norwich team, which hardly compares with Mitro's 40 in 40 this season.
