I believe he still lives somewhere around Derby. If that's the case Burton or Port Vale are options closer to home in L1. There's also Mansfield and Notts County who are going well in L2, his experience could be huge in a promotion push

Getting into that car robbed him of a couple more good years in a green shirt.
If he wants to play games he should consider a season in the League of Ireland.

My take away from the quotes from the manager and Richie himself is that he wants to be playing games but isnt in the managers plans, not as first choice anyways so they came to an agreement to terminate.

It was a pity how his international career finished alright but all things considered he'd a decent career post injury to come back at his age and go onto play over 100 games.

A fantastic servant for Ireland and an awful pity his header didn't go in against Poland as he would've catapulted straight into legendary status from fantastic  servant.

He got the job done less spectacularly against Bosnia in the playoff a few weeks later so all's well ends well.

A top lad amongst Irish supporters Clap

Agree with the under rated comment. Himself and O'Shea immense against Germany in the 1-0 win.

Likewise agreed, underrated player and a good servant for us, credit to him for picking up the pieces after such a bad injury as well

Playing out his skin! But no, 35 turning 36 later this year his time has passed. Lenihan, Dunne and McGuinness would all be ahead of him outside of the lads already in the squad.

Id say Derby are sick how he turned his career around and cost them a few million in compensation in the process.

Do you reckon he's got paid that money yet?  Derby are in administration.

And I don't think its going to come out of Mike Ashleys pocketLOL
