Another rumour is that Levein is going back upstairs at Hearts as DOF with Neil McCann replacing him, Naismith player assistant manager

That's a guaranteed sevco 12 points for next season now

There's no chance that the Kilmarnock supporters will stand for a magnificent managerial failure like McCoist being appointed manager. Besides you would have to somehow manoeuvre his huge arse out of his chair at the talksport studio.

It's more likely to be Clarke's assistant Alex Dyer (if he doesn't join Scotland in the next few days), Gary Holt (who would be a popular appointment with the fans), Derek Adams, Alan Stubbs or Jim Goodwin.

Or they could surprise everyone and make Kris Boyd player-manager.

It's quite an inept conspiracy when you think about it.

Despite this terrible conspiracy by "the establishment", they have against overwhelming odds managed to win: fifty Scottish league titles, thirty eight Scottish Cups, eighteen Scottish League Cups.

And despite the best efforts of "the establishment" have also managed to win one European Cup and high profile one off tournaments such as the Empire Exhibition Cup (1938), Victory in Europe Cup (1945), Saint Mungo Cup (1951), Coronation Cup (1953) and as a bonus were even BBC Sports Personality Team of the Year (1967).

In now defunct competitions they managed to win twenty nine Glasgow Cups, twenty eight Glasgow Charity Cups, one Drybrough Cup and one Tennent's Sixes Tournament.

Some conspiracy alright ....

Grown adults complaining that one of Europe's (and the world for that matter) most highly successful football teams are the victim of a grand scale state sponsored conspiracy is really quite the most dumb and sad thing imaginable, we must hope these people don't have kids.

Steven Reid might be joining Steve Clarke's new Scotland backroom team.

He is very welcome if he does Thumbs Up

They really don't have much to work with there, looking at the squad

Goalkeepers: Scott Bain (Celtic), Liam Kelly (Livingston), David Marshall (Hull City), Jon McLaughlin (Sunderland)

Defenders: Michael Devlin (Aberdeen), Stuart Findlay (Kilmarnock), Scott McKenna (Aberdeen), Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn Rovers), Stephen O'Donnell (Kilmarnock), Liam Palmer (Sheffield Wednesday), Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), John Souttar (Heart of Midlothian), Greg Taylor (Kilmarnock)

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong (Southampton), Tom Cairney (Fulham), John McGinn (Aston Villa), Callum McGregor (Celtic), Kenny McLean (Norwich City), Scott McTominay (Manchester United), Graeme Shinnie (Aberdeen)

Forwards: Eamonn Brophy (Kilmarnock), Oliver Burke (Celtic, on loan from West Brom), James Forrest (Celtic), Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth), Marc McNulty (Hibernian, on loan from Reading), Lewis Morgan (Sunderland, on loan from Celtic), Johnny Russell (Sporting Kansas City)

Reid was a popular player with YBIG wasn't he ?

I wonder if this forum's resident green and white hooped fruitcake considers Steven Reid to be "a hun" and a "traitor to Ireland" for working with the national team* of those horrible, nasty, oppressive Scots ? LOL

*That at present has four Celtic players and zero Rangers players involved.

It should be kept in mind that we do have Leigh Griffiths, Kieran Tierney and Ryan Christie out injured.

The weakest area of the team is obvious to everyone - up front, there's hardly anyone really to pick from. Leigh Griffiths still has to sort out whatever it is he has to sort out, so the best of luck to him.

Midfield I am not too worried about. The players are not great but they are not bad either. The problem is just to find the right combination.

In goal I'm fine if Clarke wants to continue with Scott Bain as No. 1 but I regard Livingston's Liam Kelly to be the best goalkeeper in Scotland and I would go so far as to give Kelly his debut against Cyprus.

In defence, we need a good solid right back to come to the fore, are Stephen O'Donnell and Liam Palmer really the answer ? Probably not. Left back there are no worries there, Andy Robertson is one of the best in Europe and Greg Taylor is a good player who deserves his call up.

Central defence is a big talking point on the TAMB, all sorts of different pairings being put forward. Some rate Scott McKenna highly - some think he's rubbish, some rate John Souttar highly - some think he's rubbish. I'd go for Souttar and McKenna at present but I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke eventually put's Stuart Findlay in there at some point.

Steve Clarke does have a pool of promising young players coming who may prove useful one day such as David Turnbull, Lewis Ferguson, Jake Hastie, Ewan Henderson, Glenn Middleton, Anthony McDonald, Ethan Hamilton, Michael Johnstone, Harry Cochrane, Ross McCrorie and Billy Gilmour.

It was a wee bit disappointing not to see Turnbull or Ferguson called up to at least train with the senior team. That was something Strachan did quite often with young prospects and which I thought was a good idea.

To play Cyprus I'd pick: Kelly, O'Donnell, Souttar, McKenna, Robertson, Fraser, McTominay, McGregor, Armstrong, Forrest, Brophy.

Whether Clarke can find a system to accommodate John McGinn will be interesting. He's not a bad player as he's shown for Aston Villa but (like Charlie Adam before him) it's his strange inability to make a simple short pass that has cost us goals and his tackling can be wild and reckless at times.

The Scottish Professional Football League will be looking for a new sponsor from next season after Ladbrokes said it would not renew its contract.

The gambling giant is withdrawing all marketing connected to football teams in Scotland and England.

Its parent company GVC Holdings said the move was down to a commitment to promote responsible gambling

I would think it is the opposite! This makes a tricky semi-final even trickier for them.

Jack Ross could well be suitable for them.
