€370 Million
Surely a rail link to the airport would be a much better use of these resource, I really dont see the added benifit to linking these.

As for the Broombridge link, is that Leo's constituency? What a fookin waster, Joke for a minister, media whore

As for 800 jobs, Im sure the Turkish contractors that done the port tunnel cant wait

Great idea.  Its a basic of any city that you can go from one side to the other.  The link up links that up and also links the universities such as Trinity and the new DIT campus.

By linking the city links it links Luas, Inter City and Darts all together.  No brainer in my view.

All we need now is a Dart link from Clongriffen to the Aiport and the spur before Connolly to to the Docklands and on to Pearse.

I could never understand why they dont have a dart line going to the airport? Theres no need for another line going from town to the airport when we have the dart going northside as well, something easy like a slip off from howth or one of those stops.

EDIT: Sorry I should of said Portmarnock, Howth is fecking miles away

The slip off is Clongriffen becauase there is plenty of room there and its right in the flight path so there is very little buit up there.

Howth is a peninsula so that would not make sense at all.

The major reason for it is the bottle neck of connolly needs to be solved first.   The bridge across the river can only take one train at a time. We do need  a rap around by the Docklands and to Pearse for it to take the extra traffic from the Airport.

The airport is under 15 mins from town on the port tunnel, no need for the train at the minute

Do we really need a rail out to the airport? Isn't there busses every ten minutes anyway?

Linking the red and green line seems much smarter imo.

Will this go down Grafton Street?

Burglaries have been bad enough since the Green line got extended past Sandymount. Now we have to deal with a new raft of scummers from the Northside. Im dreading when they extend it to Bray (wont be for a long time though). Its going to get like the Red Line.

I only copped afterwards how far away Howth is but Malahide or Portmarnock seems straight forward

Clongriffen is the perfect one look at the map and the build up area and the amount of land that they can build a junction and proper station etc.

Malahide is way to built up Portmarnock would be better bug again not enough land around thats free for the junction that would be needed.

LOLTis f**king nuts though!!Lets open a new transport system, with two lines, in the one medium sized capital city and keep them apart. Then we will spend a fortune a few years later linking them

if they link docklands and pearse, spur at clongriffen, do up the phoneix park tunnel, link the luas tracks then we would have an integrated transport network without the cost of dart underground and metro north

another reasonable project would be luas line f from lucan which would use extensive parts of the existing luas red line. this would divert at james' hopsital and continue to dame street to link the new line.

could all be done very reasonably

Broombridge never heard of it Confused.

Is there a map where the new lines will run?
