Obviously entertainment value is subjective.

That said, how do you explain the low attendances in Italy and the high attendances in Germany if the former is so entertaining and the latter so dull?

Last season, for instance, Serie A crowds averaged 25.2k, which is barely 60% of stadium capacity:
Whereas with the Bundesliga, the average was 42.5k i.e. 90% capacity:
Neither pattern has changed over the last decade.

How the actual f**k does attendances have any relevance to how entertaining a league is?!
Some f**ked up logic you've got going there, by that the 3rd most prestigious league in the world must be the MLS as their attendances absolutely destroys both, but we both know that's not true at all so you might want to re-think that one also Thumbs Up

Big stadiums and sell-outs doesn't make you entertaining nor does it make you a big club, I live in a part of England where this happens every week and trust me we're far from it so is our rivals just across the river.

The struggling of the finances in Italian football is not new, it's been going since the big crash in the early 00's but I'm struggling to see what point you're trying to make here other than point out irrelevant statistics and point out old news.

Get in the bin Terri.

Europe’s top 5 leagues spent on transfers

EPL         £1.4bn
La Liga    £1.2bn
Serie A    £1bn
Bundesliga £0.7bn
Ligue 1   £0.6bn

Surprised Serie A spent so much.

So millions of Germans pack out big stadia every game despite the entertainment on offer, then?

Simple fact is, you find Serie A entertaining over the Bundesliga. Fine.

But that is no basis for claiming that Serie A is therefore "more entertaining" than the Bundesliga.

Which is only what you have been claiming and I have been questioning.

See, opinions are one thing, but facts are something else.

And when you start on the latter, it's important to get them right, otherwise you'll look foolish:

I lived in the N.E. for a bit.

The SoL is still the most interesting (only?) attraction in the town, even when Sunderland are playing away.

Meanwhile, Newcastle fans are known for their masochism.

The Smoggies, mind, are a different breed, seeing as how eg crowds fell and they all wanted Pulis out when he started boring them to death.

Two more stories pointing towards how troubled much of Serie A is these days:

It will be interesting to see how their teams do in the CL this season:

Juve should get out of their Group v.comfortably, along with Atletico;
Napoli should have too much about them to fear Salzburg or Genk;
Inter are in a bitch of a Group (Barca, Dortmund and Slavia);
Atalanta will do v.well to maintain last season's record-breaking form, to see them overcome both Shaktar and D.Zagreb.

Inter would be better off focusing on winning Serie A this season anyway!

What has gone wrong with them. Very poor tonight. Lovely goal by the portugese player the only bright spot. They are miles off it at the minute.

Giampaoli is a good manager, he did well with Samp, but the players don't appear to be taking his style on board at all. There is a serious lack of confidence in that squad too at the moment, although it is clear that some of the players simply are not good enough for the level Milan want to be at.

They want to get it right soon, otherwise they'll be playing Serie B football in the shiny new stadium they want to build with Inter LOL

Juventus have launched a fresh appeal to have the 2005-06 Serie A title stripped from Inter Milan - just days before the two teams play each other. LOL

"Juve finished top that year but had the title revoked because of their role in the 2006 'Calciopoli' match-fixing scandal - when five Italians teams were penalised for attempting to influence results by picking certain referees."

https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/4989484.stm

Must admit, I had forgotten just what a mess that whole scandal was, referees, match fixing, drugs even.
